Workers Union Ensemble Call for Works

The Workers Union Ensemble have just announced our Call for Works 2013, part of our PRS for Music Foundation funded ‘Constructing a Repertoire’ commissioning project. We are really pleased to be teaming up with LSO Soundhub to offer the chance for up to four composers to have their works performed and recorded at our LSO St Luke’s gig in November 2013.

The deadline for emailing us your new scores is 5th July 2013 so composers get cracking!

C4CI Grand Finale, 29th September 2012

I have written a whole concert of new music for cochlear implant users as part of the ‘Compositions for Cochlear Implantees’ project at the University of Southampton. I’ve formed an ensemble for the gig, which will take place on Saturday 29th September at the Turner Sims Concert Hall at 1pm and is free.

We have also just heard that we have received follow-on-funding from the AHRC so can continue our collaborative research!

‘Ripped Up’ Workers Union Performance Video

Markus Kinch from Film41 has made an excellent video of the recent Workers Union performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

You can hear the other pieces by Matt Kaner, Adam Fergler and Oliver Sellwood at the Workers Union soundcloud.

The Workers Union at the University of Leeds, Friday 4th March at 1.05pm

The Workers Union Ensemble are performing my new work Ripped Up for ensemble and live electronics as part of the University of Leeds lunchtime concert series at 1.05pm in Clotherworker’s Hall this Friday. I’m conducting my piece and Matt Kaner‘s Gauguin Sketches. Should be a good gig!
